Free Party
Microclimat is a free party project that has had more than a hundred editions since its creation in 2012. They are organized in parks, forests, ice rinks, banks, underground passages, wasteland and boats (videos here)., often in collaboration with their participants. For a few years, we have also been setting up festival stages and performing in carefully chosen clubs. Our Facebook page is followed by around 20,000 people and ur Instagram page by 4,000, but our communication is calibrated to bring together 300 to 1000 people depending on the event. We started operating in the parisian area, but we are now also active in the rest of France and sometimes in Germany and Belgium.
Open airs
We are initially known for our family open airs in parks and forests, even if today we do much less than classic parties. When this is the case, we invest in a clearing, we set up a scenography and we start the afternoon with games, botanical visits or DIY workshops on sound toys for children, while the musical program is located between ambient, dub, reggae or disco. When the children leave the premises at nightfall, the evening switches to techno and house, which constitute the musical foundation of the project. This is the moment when the scenography lights up.
Festivals and clubs
We managed stages at the Château Perché, Pete the monkey, Coucool, Karnasouk, Murs à Pêches, La Forge, Warmer and Nounoune festivals, in addition to being guests at the Station and the Cabaret Sauvage in Paris, at the Chapiteau, at the Talus and at the Couvent. in Marseille, at the Village d'Alphonse in Rennes, at the Vivres de l'Art and at the iBoat in Bordeaux, as well as at Urban Spree in Berlin. We are happy to travel with our djs and our musicians, but also our visual artists, our performers and our workshop leaders. We also perform in places or events that are clearly militant such as the ZAD of Notre-Dame-des-Landes and Le Carnet near Nantes, the Fête de l'Huma or the demonstration for the defense of the Murs à pêches, the french March for the climate and Marches for freedoms.
Compilation
Microclimat released a vinyl record in 2018, a compilation whose five tracks retrace all the hours of the party, from sunset to the very end of the after party. The compilation is supported by Laurent Garnier, Gilb'R, AZF, Madben and Lena Willikens, the latter two having selected songs for their mixes for Tsugi Radio and the BBC. We made 500 copies and have still a couple available, or it is available for free on Bandcamp.
Magazine
In addition, Microclimat released in 2021 a miniature magazine dedicated to parties under covid pressure, Perlimpinpin. It is made up of drawings, collages, photos, poems and a long article on how the repressive policy linked to the pandemic has pushed the french techno scene to unite to take to the streets to defend their rights. Printed in 700 copies, it is presented here by Tsugi magazine. If you're interested to order one (10 euros), send us a message we have some spare copies.
